Special Inspectors Application Process

In order to work as an approved Designated Special Inspector (DSI) or Authorized Special Inspector (ASI) in the meck-si.com Special Inspections Program, you must complete the online application and forward or upload the application and a copy of your current certificate(s) to our System Administrator.

Inspectors that are not approved in the meck-si.com Special Inspections Program are not permitted to upload any SI documents. Any work performed during this period by an unauthorized inspector may be considered invalid by Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement.
 
Designated Special Inspector (DSI) Application Process
  1. Go to www.meck-si.com. Select Inspectors from the navigation menu on the home page of the website.
  2. Select Apply Online, Designated SI from the navigation menu on the Inspectors home page.
  3. To begin completing the online application, choose your firm’s name from the drop down menu. (If your firm is not listed on the drop down menu, please contact Inspections Coordinators at 980-314-3125.) Input your information in the following fields:
    1. First, Middle and Last Name
    2. Title
    3. Phone Number(s)
    4. Address
    5. City
    6. State
    7. Zip Code
    8. Login User Name (you will enter this user name each time you login to www.meck-si.com)
    9. Password (you will enter this password each time you login to www.meck-si.com)
    10. Password Hint
    11. Secret Question
    12. Secret Answer
    13. Architect indication and Registration number (You must choose yes or no.)
    14. Engineer indication and Registration number (You must choose yes or no.)
    15. Select Submit Application.
    16. Select Add Inspection Types.
    17. Check each Inspection Type you are qualified to perform.
    18. Input the Start Date and the End Date (expiration date) of your Engineering License. You are not required to upload any certificates.
    19. Choose Save Inspection Types.
 
Authorized Special Inspector (ASI) Application Process
  1. Go to www.meck-si.com. Select Inspectors from the navigation menu on the home page of the website.
  2. Select Apply Online, Authorized SI from the navigation menu on the Inspectors home page.
  3. To begin completing the online application, choose your firm’s name from the drop down menu. (If your firm is not listed on the drop down menu, please contact Inspections Coordinators at 980-314-3125.) Input your information in the following fields:
    1. First, Middle and Last Name
    2. Title
    3. Phone Number(s)
    4. Address
    5. City
    6. State
    7. Zip Code
    8. Login User Name (you will enter this user name each time you login to www.meck-si.com)
    9. Password (you will enter this password each time you login to www.meck-si.com)
    10. Password Hint
    11. Secret Question
    12. Secret Answer
    13. Select Submit Application.
  4. Select Add Inspection Type.
  5. Check the box for each inspection type in which you hold an authorized certification.
  6. Input the date your authorized certification became effective.
  7. Input the date your authorized certification will expire.
  8. Enter your Certificate Number (if applicable).
  9. Select Browse. This feature allows you to upload, from your computer, a copy of your certification.
  10. Select Save Inspection Types.
